Good to know

About Trumbull County's records

Trumbull County (Warren city, Niles, Girard, Howland) from the Auditor's weekly CAMA and tax extracts. Values are market value (assessed = 35%); tax owed = unpaid prior years plus both halves of the current bill, and tax delinquent = unpaid tax from earlier years. Foreclosure and bankruptcy flags are the Auditor's own codes. Transfers go back to 1993; the county publishes deed types only as numbers, so only clear ones are named (survivorship, sheriff's, trustee, no-fee transfer) and inherited homes cannot be told apart from other no-fee transfers. Property city and zip come from the county's 911 address points (some come from nearby parcels).

Ohio rules

How unpaid tax and foreclosure work in Ohio

Unpaid tax is certified delinquent after about a year; the county treasurer then forecloses through the court or the Board of Revision, and sheriff sales are held online. Some counties also sell tax lien certificates. The owner can pay the full amount until the court confirms the sheriff sale.

Mortgage foreclosures: judicial. Mortgage foreclosures go through the court of common pleas and end with an online sheriff sale.
