About Cuyahoga County's records

Whole county (about 564,000 tax parcels) from the Fiscal Officer's daily tax-parcel table; Cleveland parcels add city facts. Values are the county's market value (assessed = 35%). Tax owed = the unpaid balance of the current bill; tax delinquent = unpaid tax from earlier years or a tax-lien certificate sold or pending; the foreclosure flag is the county's own. Sales since 2021 come from the county sales layer (deed codes: WD warranty, SU survivorship, FD fiduciary, LW limited warranty, QC quit claim); older owners show only their latest deed. City records: Cleveland building & housing violations, board-up and demolition permits (Cleveland only).

Ohio rules

How unpaid tax and foreclosure work in Ohio

Unpaid tax is certified delinquent after about a year; the county treasurer then forecloses through the court or the Board of Revision, and sheriff sales are held online. Some counties also sell tax lien certificates. The owner can pay the full amount until the court confirms the sheriff sale.

Mortgage foreclosures: judicial. Mortgage foreclosures go through the court of common pleas and end with an online sheriff sale.
