Missouri rules

How unpaid tax and foreclosure work in Missouri

County collectors hold the yearly tax sale on the fourth Monday in August; Kansas City and St. Louis also use land tax suits through the courts. After a regular sale the owner generally has one year to redeem.

Mortgage foreclosures: non-judicial. Most homes are sold at a trustee's sale on the courthouse steps after about three weeks of published notice.
