How we collect and check county records →How unpaid tax and foreclosure work in Georgia
Delinquent properties are sold at the county tax sale on the courthouse steps, usually on the first Tuesday of the month. The owner can redeem for 12 months after the sale by paying a premium; after that the buyer can send notice to end the right to redeem.
Mortgage foreclosures: non-judicial. Most foreclosures are out of court under a power of sale; sales are held on the first Tuesday of the month after four weeks of newspaper notice.
